The festival of Baisakhi🌾🚜was celebrated with great enthusiasm at GDGPS, Amritsar on April 12, 2024. Special assembly was conducted in which our students showcased their talents through traditional dance, music and cultural performances. Small scenes depicting the lifestyle and customs of Punjab apprised the children of our rich culture and heritage.
Baisakhi mela😇 was the highlight of the day .And to give it a realistic touch, puppet show, balloon vendor, mehandi, jhoolas, phulkaris, and many other punjabi traditional items were made a part of this.
Our Principal , Ms. Madhu Gandhi highlighted the religious and cultural benefits of Baisakhi. It was a cheerful festive day which the children enjoyed to the brim.
Earth Day

Students gracefully dance to the rhythm of nature, their movements echoing the beauty and harmony of the Earth’s ecosystems. Meanwhile, a thought-provoking skit unfolds, illustrating the delicate balance between human actions and environmental impact. Through captivating performances, we were reminded of the profound significance of Earth Day – a moment to pause, reflect, and recommit to safeguarding our precious planet for future generations.🌳🌎

Mother's Day

Celebrating the unwavering and nurturing spirit of motherhood❤, a special assembly was conducted in the premises of GD Goenka Public School. The students and teachers expressed their gratitude💫 towards selfless love of mothers by reciting poems about them. In the mesmerizing dance performance all witnessed a beautiful expression of love and admiration for the remarkable mothers who enrich our lives with their endless devotion and unwavering support.

🇮🇳GD Goenka Public School celebrated the 77th Independence Day titled — Symphony of Sovereignty with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor at Art Gallery,Amritsar.The ambience was beautifully decorated with tricolors, flags, and posters reflecting the spirit of freedom. The program included a series of performances by students, showcasing their love for the country through patriotic songs and dances. Our students presented a heartwarming skit depicting the reality check of Mahatma Gandhiji’s vision of independent India and it’s comparison with today’s contemporary world. This event truly encouraged everyone to uphold the values of freedom, responsibility, and unity.🇮🇳
Investiture ceremony
A leader is the one who knows the way, goes the way and shows the way
G D Goenka Public School, Amritsar organised its Investiture ceremony titled— Symphony of Sovereignty with aplomb at Art Gallery,Amritsar. The event included the fusion dance performance of Ganesha Vandana.
The ceremonial pinning of the badges and handling over the sashes to the newly elected candidates was done by the Principal Ms Madhu Gandhi along with the House In charges. Our newly elected student’s council pledged to work earnestly and uphold the honour and glory of the institution while receiving their prestigious badges and sashes. The house captains stood tall while holding their houses flags. The School Captain Diya Arora, Vice – Captain Satbir Singh, Discipline In charges: Arjot Singh & Simardeep Singh along with the House Captains as well as Vice – Captains took oath to carry out their duties with integrity, faith and excellence. The ceremony concluded with the astounding Giddha performance that has not only Punjabi Heritage but Teej Festivities at the Pinnacle. In all,the ceremony concluded with a sense of pride and responsibility, as the newly invested leaders vowed to uphold the values of the school and lead by example, inspiring their peers to strive for excellence in every endeavor.

Independence day, Rakhi and Teej celebrations were held in G.D Goenka Public School, Amritsar with great zeal.The children were dressed up in traditional colourful outfits with ornaments and accessories.
Our tiny tots had lots of fun. Significance, Amazing facts, Dance, Bhangra and Skit was presented to enlighten the festival.
The teachers encouraged the children to enjoy and respect all the festivals.
Teacher's day
Life should not only be lived, but it should be celebrated
Kiddos of Goenka Public School celebrated Teachers’ Day with love and admiration. Students started the day by greeting their teachers at the entrance with flowers, handmade cards, and warm smiles. The ambience of school was filled with the air full of gratitude and joy.
A special surprise awaited teachers in their classrooms – students decorated their desks with heartfelt messages, tiny gifts, and treats. They shared lighthearted memories of their teachers’ unique quirks and kind gestures.
In a sweet gesture, students and teachers came together to share stories and laughter, making it a truly memorable and heartwarming celebration.
Diwali & Bandhi Chod Diwas
Diwali is a time to light up our hearts with love and brighten our world with smiles
Imbued with the true essence of the above quote, GD Goenka Public School, Amritsar organised the Special Assembly which was an amalgam of Bandi Chod Diwas as well as Deepawali wherein Stage reverberated with the mixed hues of both the festivals in the form of Shabad, enactment & Dance Drama. This whole assembly was conducted by the students of Vivekanand house. The message came out loud & clear: To oust the evil from within in order to enlighten the self. This was followed by the Cleanliness & Decoration Competition on the eve of Diwali which was held classwise to fuel the spirit of jocularity. It was well coordinated & the fervour to win it was unmatched. The blending of fun & commitment was worth watching.
In all, the Diwali Fiesta was filled to the brim with Euphoric Moments.
Grandparents day Grandparents are the family's greatest treasure, the founder of a loving legacy and the greatest storytellers.
To honour them GD Goenka Public School Amritsar, primary wing celebrated grandparents Day on 1st October 2024. The function started with welcoming the grandparents followed by a melodious welcome song. To balance the tones set by the event, we had a game in which grandparents participated with great zeal.
The grandparents appreciated and shared the efforts to make a connection between these generations through such kinds of events. The day was filled with oodles of blessings happy faces and excitement. The event culminated with the vote of thanks by our Respected Principal mam Ms. Madhu Gandhi.
Christmas
Christmas is a season not only of rejoicing but of reflection
GD Goenka Public School celebrated the spirit of Christmas with a special assembly filled with joy and meaning. The event began with melodious carols by the choir, setting a festive mood. A beautiful enactment of the story of Jesus Christ’s birth followed, portraying the values of love, humility, and kindness.
The excitement peaked with the arrival of Santa Claus, who spread cheer and distributed goodies to delighted students. The assembly ended with a heartfelt message of spreading love and kindness, making it a memorable and meaningful celebration.
Dussehra
Conquer evil with truth and kindness
GD Goenka Public School, Amritsar, celebrated Dussehra with a special assembly organized by the students of Teresa House. The occasion was highlighted by vibrant performances that reflected the rich cultural and moral values associated with the festival.In line with the significance of Dussehra, the students showcased a series of performances symbolizing the triumph of good over evil. On this day ,big and giant effigy of Ravana was put to fire within a big and open place. Even a dramatisation of the fight between Goddess Durga – Power of Shakti and Mahishasur – the Demon King was showcased by students. Everyone swayed on the mellifluous music, and rhythmic beats of the bhajan.In all, this event emphasized on the real spirit of Dussehra as a reminder to uphold integrity and righteousness in daily life
Krishna Janmashtmi
The only way to conquer the world is to love
GD Goenka Public School celebrated Shri Krishna Janmashtmi. The school premises echoed with devotion.Dressed as little Krishnas and Radhas, the children filled the air with love and devotion, their dance movements and sweet bhajans bringing the divine spirit of Janmashtami alive.Our young ones mesmerized everyone with their adorable enactment of Lord Krishna lifting the mighty Govardhan Parvat, reminding us of his courage and protection.The celebration reached its peak when the tiny tots, with great enthusiasm, beautifully portrayed the divine scene of Krishna shielding the people from Indra’s wrath by lifting the Govardhan Parvat. With innocent devotion and charm, our tiny dots brought the essence of Krishna Janmashtami to life, performing bhajans, dance.In all, this event has captured the spirit of the enjoyment showcasing the children’s participation and their dedication to honoring Lord Krishna.
